Scrimshaw projections created for NCT's production of Treasure Island.  Two double-stacked projectors at the back of the house directed at a fully mapped, tattered set.  Pieces would be flown in and the central unit moved into various positions to depict the Admiral Benbow Inn, the Hispanola, and Treasure Island.  The scrimshaw pattern was inspired by 1800s era whale carvings.

"Colin Peterson’s projection design gives the piece movement – from the billowing Union Jack (soon to be switched out for the treacherous Jolly Roger) to the steady ebb and flow of the waves. And while some might wonder about the lack of color, there’s something about the black and white illustrations that harkens back to storybooks of long ago."
