Nashville Children's Theatre partnered with Borderless Arts Tennessee, an organization that works with people with disabilities to help pursue their artistic passions. With assistance from the Tennessee Arts Commision, this partnership materialized in the creation of four 10-minute scripts derived from conversations with people with disabilities ranging from Autism to Downs Syndrome.
"Beat" is a play about a person with a traumatic brain injury and more specifically, about when that traumatic brain injury occurred and the subsequent recovery. It is and was a very important piece.
